Brother, please help me with some answers if you have time – I am close to replicate your whole system and I need some info pls: to be able to watch neflix with dolby atmos, do I need to plug in from Nvidia STVPRO into Onkyo and from there to the projector ? Or is something different? And does the projector need to support Dolby Atmos too, or if you have the Onkyo it doesn''t matter what the projector is capable off?

I have a question and hopefully someone can help. So I’m new to this whole Home theater thing and I have an 9.2 onkyo receiver and have a 5.2.4 setup and would like to add 2 more ceiling speakers but ran out of channels. Can I buy an external amp and some how connect it to my receiver to add to more channels is my question? Or do I just need to buy an 11 channel receiver? Thanks in advance

As far as I know, you can only get 5.1 through optical. If you want Atmos, you need to use HDMI I believe, and/or ARC if your streaming from built in apps on your display, be it a LCD display or a projector.

The real surround in the ceiling is not good. Maybe it’s a second set for Atmos which you can do, I can do on my new Receiver. I just ordered a new 12" Klipish Amp and fix my current one so I have 2 since I do now have 2 amp outputs on my receiver. I wish I had a room that large. But it’s not bad with my new 75” Samsung QLED 4K tv I also just got.

Rear surround speakers in ceiling while running atmos isn't a good idea. They blend together making the rear surround and atmos indistinguishable from each other. I recommended buying or building stands for the rear if u want a better atmos exp

I would have gotten a transparent screen so you could hide the front 3 speakers behind the screen. It adds another layer to films because dialogue is coming from dead center of the screen.
