Why a 4 core cpu vs something like 6800K 6core on a X99 AII platform?

I am buying a 4K TV for watching videos and films in 4K Quality but i am worried that my computer graphic card might not be able to handle it. This is the computer i have- Can you please check the specs and let me know if anything will need improved to play 4K Videos. I do not plan to play games on my PC, it is just for streaming videos. I am hoping that it will be able to play 4K Video. If it cannot can you please tell me what specs need improved and what i will need at least to play 4K 🙂

Hi Paul I just recently put together a system running an Asus prime B250M-A board, core I7 7700 CPU,16 gigs of Ripjaws ram and a 1T 850 Evo SSD for my son for some light gaming. A friend of his gave us a Geforce GTX 650 graphics card to use however not only can I not get the software to load from Nvidia, but I can't find the card in device manager or when I boot into bios, It's like it's plugged into the board and the fan is running but otherwise dead, I guess my question is should I even bother messing with this card, and can you recommend a good budget card and any other tweaks I can do to improve speed and performance? …Thank you!

Maybe your questions should be more specific lol

  8. thebrainfan - January 14, 2021

What would be a good option in 2020? For only 4k playback, no gaming.

  9. British Patriot - January 14, 2021

Who on earth buys a PC and then plays on a T.V

  10. Ben Arthur - January 14, 2021

Can you please update new video, with devices which can serve as HTPC for 4K video playback on TV and/or possibly a Media server on network also.

  11. A7mad Gamer - January 14, 2021

I dont understand cant u just watch 4k Netflix directly from ur 4k tv??
I just bought a new Samsung smart tv 4k and about to install it. Could someone explain pls??

  12. Copy Imitation - January 14, 2021

That living room pc setup recommendation is beyond overkill 😂 I have been using the same pc in my living room since around 2011 😆😆😆 and it can stream 1080p absolutely fine! (it has a Intel G620
    2.60 GHz
and 6gb of random name brand ram lol)

I don't have a 4k tv or else i would try it out. I imagine it won't take much more than this crappy cpu to actually watch 4k content. Saying you need a gtx1080 is so ridiculous.

Intel uhd graphic for 4k streaming possible???

  14. Jovan Stefanovic - January 14, 2021

Need a PC to run almost Everytime 24×7.

  17. Automatic No Static - January 14, 2021

I run an AMD Ryzen with a GTX 1070 card n my 45 inch TV and get 50 FPS on Fallout 4, except when in the Boston area of the game. The FPS drops but is still very playable.

  18. Kerbyrose - January 14, 2021

i need a strong computer to watch 4k? i thought that you only needed good internet. is this right?

  19. sean diaz - January 14, 2021

Wow, what a CPU/GPU combo for HTPC setup. 1st world recommendation, I guess.

  20. James Lev - January 14, 2021

What is the best or near best cpu speed and 4k graphics card just for playing movies? I'm not a gamer…

  21. God Emperor Meow - January 14, 2021

I'd get the FX8300 series of chips. You need games to run and clock speed does NOT matter at all at 4K.

My last motherboard purchase for a Computer to use with a HDTV 1080p was from Micro Center. It was a gigabyte GA-H110MN motherboard and an Intel Box i3-6100 CPU for $154.98. That was one of their combo sales where they discounted the motherboard by $30.
