Here we will review the Top 5 Best DIY Home Security Systems of 2019. Qolsys took the cake this year.. will 2020 bring anything different?

We choose these DIY home security systems because they all offer at least 1-way encryption from sensors back to the main control panel.

Each of these systems is also a Dual-Path security system meaning they have two modes of communicating signals back to the central station servers.

In addition, all of these systems in their own right integrate into various third parties such as Apple Homekit, Nest thermostats, Rachio Sprinklers, Lutron Lights, Chamberlin MY Q garage doors, Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

The Last aspect of all of these security systems is that they have access to their own DIY security camera lines.

The question of home security will always be relevant. I live in a not very favorable area and therefore I had to install a security system. When choosing between wired and wireless, I certainly chose the wireless option from Kangaroo. This makes life a lot easier, no need to break the walls and throw a bunch of unnecessary wires. The whole system works through a wi-fi network and can be controlled using the phone, in general, I am very pleased with my purchase.

  9. very imformative..hopefully philippines will have that…

I like the video but i don’t get why systems like adt and similar are not reviewed in this video. Are adt and other more commercial system so subpar that they did not make it to the list? If so, why have I not heard about the ones in the list before? I’m in the reprocess of selecting a system for my house. Thanks!

I appreciate the good info but the popping and distortion on your audio was distracting and annoying.

  12. Joan Engy - July 27, 2020

Very informative video, not previously met these brands. And what security systems can I advise for a small apartment?

  13. Gene Simmons - July 27, 2020

I have an ADT Pulse system with multiple cameras (7 exterior cameras), installed last year. Verdict? Useless, except for trapping 'low hanging fruit'. Have a problem with burglaries and vandalism here in the neighborhood, mostly carried out by people living here and/or connected to people living here. Finding out these people (ringleader at least) is a bit sophisticated at bypassing-spoofing-jamming home security systems. He (and his 'crew') never pass up an opportunity to taunt myself and other residents.
'Ringleader' owns and rents out a local residential property to family and also owns commercial structures nearby. Police can't (or won't) do anything as they have no proof and ADT has stated repeatedly that my system is 'working properly'(?). I wouldn't give a nickel for any home security system at this point unless they are proven secure and resistant to spoofing, jamming, etc.

Wow I must say the audio on this 2019 top 5 best home security system is much improved nice job i ended up going with the iq panel 2 plus the interlogix version. Thanks guys!

  18. Underdog Rising - July 27, 2020

I'm seriously considering getting the IQ Panel 2+. I want something more robust than Nest but cheaper than a monthly service like ADT. I also want to still be able to pay for a service to automatically call police if I have a break in. I'm a little worried about setting it up. I also want something I can monitor from work through a cellphone or if I'm on a trip. Another problem is that I want something I can supplement over time. I can't afford to pay for everything up front. I have 4 doors and 8 windows so the cost is much higher. Can I add sensors and cameras as I go? Thanks for your time.

  19. Elliot Joffetti - July 27, 2020

Can you bypass sensor individually on the honeywell lyric system?
