SCAM ALERT! I do NOT recommend any investors or IG (Instagram) personalities or WhatsApp phone number financial gurus!! There are impersonators out there so BE AWARE!!!! These pieces of trash WILL ALSO Impersonate OTHER YOUTUBERS!! IT’S ALL A SCAM!!! Also, be wary of ANY emails from DanDigitalAssetNEW @ Mine has an "S" for NEWS….

  2. Boone Boy - December 22, 2020

guess i’m trading a few eth for akimbo 1911’s

  3. For Sale - December 22, 2020

Hi All – Please be very careful. Just want to share a few things that have happened concerning the Ledger hack. I've recently had 4 attempts from 4 different countries where people are trying to sync their devices to my email that Ledger let be stolen and a few hrs ago someone tried to open a coinbase account using my stolen email. Thanks so much Ledger for being sooooooooo sloppy with our info. BE VERY CAREFUL

  4. Chilly Willy - December 22, 2020

    Hi Dan,

Thanks for the tip with the passphrase. I had not been aware of that.

Keep up the good work and stay safe.

    All the best from Denmark.

  5. EyesOnThais - December 22, 2020

'Been living in Thailand nearly 20 years with no problems. Last week, we were robbed whilst sleeping. Coincidence?

  6. johnfehringer - December 22, 2020

Thanks for covering this so clearly Dan. Not worried…

  7. Brian G Finance - December 22, 2020

I was considering ordering a ledger, I might wait up a bit.

  8. Mcan Duiken - December 22, 2020

I'm very lucky because I had my ledger shipped to my storage unit and not my home address. I also spoke with my wireless provider today for advice on protecting myself from a sim swap in case my phone number had been leaked, to make sure I'm secure there. Over the past 24 hours I've learned more than a little bit about beefing up my security. Take nothing for granted. I watched the video on Andreas Antonoupolos's channel today and I feel better.

  9. For Sale - December 22, 2020

Hey Rob – Big thanks to both you and Bearable B for covering the Ledger issue. I've very technical and said to myself okay they can't get my digital assets however I was super pissed about my other info floating around out there and I too and waiting to hear back from Ledger. Also I will no longer be calling aka D.A.N. because I'm back to being a grown up.

  10. Julie - December 22, 2020

Hell its not just ledger, I just got an email saying it was from Coinbase saying they needed to confirm my email . Didn't even open.. so please beware!!! Its a very sad world.

  11. Gaz Mellen - December 22, 2020

    TREZOR problem solved

  12. Sean Donahue - December 22, 2020

I think your video is pretty much spot on. This is not a compromise that’s going to hurt you unless you’re foolish enough to click on one of those fishing emails.

Ledger just hook everyone up with a few Satoshis and all will be forgiven.

  13. Cha - December 22, 2020

Just buy a second phone and put your wallets on it then bury it. Ledgers too much hassle.

  14. Donnell Victor - December 22, 2020

thats wild atomic wallet and metamask has been more secure than ledger ….i digress…this makes me very uneasy

  15. Alexandre Ghio - December 22, 2020

Why don we have all our info on the blockchain and give limited access when we buy a product or anything!

  16. a a - December 22, 2020

threat that starts with "I'm not afraid" 😀 nice.

  17. Latin J - December 22, 2020

I’m in Texas too , it would be pure stupidity if someone tries to come steal my crypto wallets…

  18. MachTwo Egrin - December 22, 2020

Top man Rob👏 there's a few of you YTubers out there offering good sound advice to help people with this really poor situation created by Ledger. I hope these scum bags don't get a penny 😎

  19. Blacky - December 22, 2020

If coinbase would add a strong phone support like stock brokerage firms…coinbase would be the best.

  20. Crypto Time - December 22, 2020

    Thanks DNEWS !!!

  21. sonofjay817 - December 22, 2020

maybe I have foolish confidence, but if the danger is no more than you say, that doesn't bother me too much. My address is on the public record and can be easily gotten as well as my email address. I'm accustomed to scam emails and texts. If someone said they were going to come to my house and work me over with a wrench if I didn't send them btc, I would say "Please, do come. I have a pleasant surprise waiting for you". I'm not trying to sound like a badass, but that would just so completely infuriate me.

  22. Jorge Villacreses - December 22, 2020

they send text messages which links to a fake ledger page. never thought it wud happen

  23. Jorge Villacreses - December 22, 2020

I got phished out of 1.5 BTC and 3 ETH because of this compromise. To say that it is safe is just untrue. They will have to do a lot to get back customers whose information is compromised.

  24. Taj Singh - December 22, 2020

Well done with this Video Rob much more informative than Ledger.
Keep up the good work God Speed👌

  25. BoredomVidz - December 22, 2020

Can you do a review on Ngrave Zero wallet? This wallet seems to be a full proof 0 chance of being hacked (as of now).
    Your thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

  26. Chris Redfield - December 22, 2020

Can't trust crypto only thing you can trust is physical gold physical, silver, physical Platinum. 1 oz copper

  27. blackratsnakes - December 22, 2020

I don't think my paper wallet is looking too bad right now.

  28. Investor Bren - December 22, 2020

I'm really worried about all the KYC information we are forced to give on all the exchanges. No way those databases will never be hacked. That'll be a whole lot worse … fake id's, fake passports, you getting stop at customs for a case of mistaken identity … joy ;(

All the more reason for a decentralized, secure identification solution

  29. J'Bob Barrett - December 22, 2020

Crypto assets are safe, just not us. Thanks Ledger! Guess I’m the only person that has kids because all I hear is “ your assets are safe”.

  30. BitDoc NP - December 22, 2020

I moved onto bc-vault several months ago. 4x security doors on that baby.

  31. Fred Gassit - December 22, 2020

Thanks for a common sense view. I think Ledger need to address the issue or they will lose more customers. Unfortunately we don't have a right to defend ourselves in the same way as you have in Texas, as I would be very happy to show a bad actor how badly I take to threats. I agree people need to think and then make sure they are doing the right things to keep their information safe and secure. I think the ledger device security is great and it is a shame they exposed people's personal data which is very important to people feeling safe. Keep up the great videos and work.

  32. DeadlyDarkSun - December 22, 2020

Thanks for the update. I'm sorry but if any company is TOLD to collect info for things like kyc, or collect it as part of ad revenue and they can't keep it safe then it falls to them. Now we know how much our info is worth yet we are told to give it away for free while the bad guys benefit. When are the good guys going to be given a break? I'm not evading taxes, never have ! Much to my displeasure! Lol but I don't feel happy with companies/gov etc telling me to show my belly to the knife when they can't guarantee my safety. this will only get worse as we move more into a digital world. Banks will be bust, we will all have our digital money so the knobhead thieves have one route only……cyberspace. get clued up my fellow futurists!! O and by the way hello Mr IRS, Mr FB, Mr Google hope you enjoyed my rant!!

  33. CC - December 22, 2020

They can show up at our house. We serve the Lord and am ARMED, you come to our house uninvited and you'll meet the Lord!!

  34. Muhammad Syafiq Borhanudin - December 22, 2020

I don't know what to say. Disappointed

  35. CC - December 22, 2020

    BC Vault is the BEST!!!!

  36. O C Lot - December 22, 2020

Awesome information about the secondary asset technique!

  37. O C Lot - December 22, 2020

And remember, powers that be are pushing for ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION to be available for every transaction.

  38. Tom Denk - December 22, 2020

  39. SANDEEP HUNJAN - December 22, 2020

Chico can confuse so here's a chrystal clear summary: Lightning, ETH 2.0, TDVL, poon, LAPS, DAPS, Turing Complete, fraud-proofs, wang, coinkidink, Vitalik, Kwon, Jinglan Wang, Interledger, plasma, barf, hashed-time-locked-contracts, cryptographic, paradigm, Omisego, optimistic, Huang, Erhsam, Chi-Fu, China, MIT, Dryja, GDP, Wiki, Auction Theory, IDEO, UNI, SNX, Tendermint. Can't be any more obvious than that!

  40. Monkey Tron - December 22, 2020

Just for those scared, you can add an alias to most email accounts.
Create one, update all your services to use that new address.
Then create a rule to store all emails sent to your previous address to a special archive folder.
I’m not concerned one bit but if you are, there’s a way to change your email without signing up to a new service.

  41. Monkey Tron - December 22, 2020

BREAKING NEWS: Scammers already have your email, home address and name.
Deal with it just like you’ve been doing for decades.
Also, scammers are lazy by definition. They want low risk for maximum cash.
They aren’t coming to your home.
They have no idea how much you have, if you have it on you, if it’s split and shared with others or how good at fighting or how many guns you have in the US.
Not a risk reward these lazy twats want to deal with.

  42. Crazy prayingmantis - December 22, 2020

Told you it's safer to just keep it on exchanges

  43. David Anderson - December 22, 2020

Ha! This is why I get deliveries at a postal outlet and not my home.

  44. Pete Lyhne - December 22, 2020

Thanks for the Intel. Appreciate you.

  45. Russell S - December 22, 2020

Dan, thats 3 strikes and they are OUT! I hope you wont be advertising them anymore. My friend had $12K worth of BTC and ETH stolen from his Ledger. I've stopped using Ledger and stick with Trezor. Ledger has awful customer service and always deny any wrongdoing by default. I hope someone brings a class action against them.

  46. Crypto 2020 - December 22, 2020

Ledger is a joke.., No way I'm keeping any of my coins there.

  47. Flint Chandler - December 22, 2020

    I got the dreaded email.

  48. Pete Hua - December 22, 2020

Hey guys… isn't this strange timing with this coming out and also Steve Mnuchin wanting to KYC wallets? Rob, any thoughts on this timing? Coincidence?

  49. Yogi DeBear - December 22, 2020

Why aren't these companies air gapping customer data? Maybe I don't understand air gapping but seems to me like the right move.
